Horecas Parity · Rate parity monitoring

Track rate parity channel by channel, with evidence

Horecas Parity compares your official rate with the prices online sales channels show for the same stay conditions. It brings parity gaps, sales on unauthorised channels, duplicate hotel listings and suspected rate leaks to your team, each with its detection time and evidence.

Like for like first, then the price

Not every lower number on screen is a parity problem. Parity compares a channel price with your official rate only when the stay conditions match.
  1. Official rate source

The baseline is the price on your hotel’s own booking engine. It is marked explicitly during setup, and every difference is calculated against it.

  2. Matching offer

The channel’s offer is matched on date, room type and meal plan. A price in another currency is not compared while the exchange rate is unknown.

  3. Difference and threshold

The difference is calculated relative to the official rate. Prices more than 1% below it are flagged; a higher price is not counted as a breach.

How is the difference calculated?

Difference = (Channel price − Official rate) ÷ Official rate

Example(4,074 − 4,200) ÷ 4,200 = −126 ÷ 4,200 = −3.0%

What it shows

A contracted channel shows the same offer more than 1% below your official rate.

Next step

The evidence record gives the channel or your distribution team a concrete example. If the price has been corrected by the next check, the finding closes as resolved.

A record behind every finding

From a finding card you can open its evidence record and see where, when and under which conditions the price was seen. The record can be shared as a printable evidence report.

Caution

A suspicion is never presented as a confirmed breach

A false accusation usually costs a channel relationship more than the price gap itself. That is why Parity keeps what it sees apart from what it infers.

Observation

The price seen on screen, recorded with the channel, date, conditions and time of the check.

Suspicion

Possible source: agreement K-2

An inference about which agreement the price may have come from. It stays marked as a suspicion until it is verified.

Guarding against false alarms

  • A price in another currency is not compared while the exchange rate is unknown.

  • A finding that names an agency remains a suspicion until a second, independent observation.

  • An offer whose room name cannot be read is not flagged as an unauthorised room sale.

  • An official rate that reads unusually high is not used as the comparison baseline.

The parity table: dates against channels

Each night is compared across every channel listing, so cells below the threshold stand out at a glance. In the product, clicking a date opens that night’s breakdown by room.

Parity doesn’t set your rates; it watches how they appear

What Parity does

  • Compares your official rate with channel prices under the same stay conditions.
  • Opens separate findings for gaps beyond the threshold, points of sale without an agreement and second listings on the same channel.
  • Shows prices that match agency net rates as suspected rate leaks.
  • Keeps every finding with its detection time and evidence.

What Parity does not do

  • It does not set room rates or change prices automatically.
  • It does not track competitor hotels or recommend prices.
  • It does no channel management: rate and availability distribution stays in your current system.
  • It does not accuse a channel or agency on its own; decisions stay with your team.

Four steps to start monitoring

You set Parity up together with the Horecas team. The most important step is marking the official rate source correctly, because every comparison rests on it.

  1. Mark your official rate source

Your hotel’s own booking engine is set as the comparison baseline. Every difference is calculated against it.

  2. Add the channels to monitor

Public sites where your hotel is sold are added to the list. Search suggestions help you find points of sale you may have missed.

  3. Enter your agency agreements

With agency net rates, permitted channels and publication terms in place, the unauthorised channel and suspected leak findings can run too.

  4. Set up your team and notifications

Add colleagues as Managers or Viewers. Check results appear in the product as one summary notification.

Does Parity change my room rates?

No. Parity does not set prices, make automatic rate changes or push rates to channels. Pricing decisions and channel settings stay in the systems you already use; Parity only monitors how your rate appears on channels.

Does it track competitor hotels?

No. Parity only monitors your own hotel’s rate. It does not offer competitor rate analysis or price recommendations.

Which price is used as the baseline?

The price on your hotel’s own booking engine, marked as the official rate source during setup. Comparisons match room type and meal plan.

What is a suspected rate leak based on?

When agency net rates and the small agency-specific differences are entered as agreement details, prices seen on public sites are checked against them. A match is only a suspicion; where it points to a named agency, it stays one until a second, independent observation.

Which channels can be monitored?

OTAs and agency sites where your rate is publicly visible. Closed, password-protected agency portals cannot be checked; prices that leak from them can still be caught through the net rate trail when they appear on a public site.

How often are checks run, and how am I notified?

How often checks run, and from when, is agreed during setup. The result of each check appears in the product as one summary notification; you can also have a specific date range checked.

Who on the team can use it?

Parity has Manager and Viewer roles. Your revenue or sales manager handles the findings, and other team members can follow the table and the evidence as viewers.
