Product integration
Oracle Hospitality integration
With hotels that use Oracle Hospitality products, we agree the scope of a connection together in conversation. This page explains where things stand today, how the process would work and what the hotel needs to provide.
Two separate things
A partner programme and a product integration are not the same
Partner programme
Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN)
Oracle’s partner programme for software and services companies. Membership is a programme relationship; on its own, it does not show that a technical connection with any Oracle product exists.
Partners pageProduct integration
Oracle Hospitality
A defined exchange of data between Horecas products and the Oracle Hospitality system a hotel uses. Its scope is set by the connected product, the data involved, the direction of transfer and the environment.
Current status and scopeAccording to Oracle’s documentation, an application serving multiple hotels needs steps such as OPN membership and an Oracle Hospitality Marketplace listing before it can connect to hotels’ live Oracle environments. These steps do not, on their own, show that an integration is running at any particular hotel.
OracleHospitalityIntegrationPlatform
What is OHIP?
OHIP is the integration platform Oracle provides for connecting to Oracle Hospitality products such as OPERA Cloud through APIs.
Through OHIP, an application can only read or write data within the permissions it has been granted. Access to a hotel’s live environment is opened with the approval of an administrator on the hotel’s side.
Horecas has no live Oracle Hospitality connection today. Once a connection is verified, this page will state which Oracle product it uses and how.
Scope
Current status and scope
Horecas has no live Oracle Hospitality connection today. We agree the scope of a first connection in conversation, based on the Oracle product your hotel uses; once verified, it is published in this section.
What we agree together
- Connected Oracle product
- The Oracle Hospitality product Horecas connects to, and how
- Supported Horecas product
- Horecas products that use the connection
- Data shared
- Information transferred between the two systems
- Direction of transfer
- Which system the data moves from and to
- Synchronisation
- Whether data moves in real time or at set intervals
- Hotel-side requirements
- What the hotel needs to provide for the connection
How it works
From test environment to live use
An Oracle Hospitality integration moves through two separate environments. A successful trial in the test environment does not mean a connection is working live; the two are shown as separate statuses.
Test environment
Scope
The connected product, data types and direction of transfer are agreed with the hotel.
Test environment
Test access
The connection is set up and tried in the hotel’s test environment or in Oracle’s sandbox.
Hotel approval
Access to the live environment is opened with the approval of the hotel’s Oracle administrator.
Live environment
Live use
The connection is verified again in the live environment; only then is its status shown as “Live”.
What the hotel needs to provide
Based on Oracle’s OHIP process, an integration usually requires the following on the hotel’s side. The exact list depends on the product you use and the agreed scope.
The Oracle product and version you use
According to Oracle’s documentation, OHIP is offered to hotels using OPERA Cloud.
An administrator for your Oracle environment
To approve the integration user and manage access rights.
Access to a test environment
So the connection can be tried before it reaches the live environment.
Authorised approval for data sharing
Someone who can decide, on the hotel’s behalf, which data is shared and in which direction.
Details of access restrictions
If security settings such as an IP allow list are in use, the details of these.
A technical contact
A colleague or your IT provider who can answer questions during setup.
Frequently asked questions
Does Horecas integrate with Oracle Hospitality today?
No, we have no live Oracle Hospitality connection today. We agree the scope of a first connection in conversation, based on the Oracle product your hotel uses; once verified, it is published on this page.
Does Oracle PartnerNetwork membership mean an integration exists?
No. OPN is Oracle’s partner programme. A technical connection with an Oracle Hospitality product is a separate piece of work, with its own scope and its own verification.
Does a connection that works in a test environment count as live?
No. Test environment access is for trials only. A connection working in the live environment is verified separately and shown with its own status.
Can we use Horecas without an integration?
Yes. Guest and stay details can be imported into the panel from an Excel file or entered one by one. You do not need to wait for an integration to start using the products.
Which Oracle products can we discuss?
In the conversation we review the Oracle Hospitality products and versions your hotel uses. According to Oracle’s documentation, OHIP is offered to hotels using OPERA Cloud.
What should we prepare for the conversation?
The names and versions of the Oracle products you use, who is responsible for your Oracle environment, and what you expect from the integration are enough for a first conversation.
